Halloween in July or The Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge Week 5

Well what do you know its week 5 in the Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge. Linda is doing such a great job of keeping us all on our toes and letting us learn some new techniques and refresh ourselves on some older one.

This week is Distress Powder which I happen to love and have actually emptied a bottle of it before using it on tags, pages, cards, everywhere.

So you know I was happy to jump right in on this challenge and it also gave me an excuse to play with my new stamps I won from Tim's Blog. You have all heard of Christmas in July, well this week it was Halloween in July.

Let me know what you think.

  2. Wonderful piece, Stephen! I was thinking about using this set too, but just couldn't get into a Halloween mood when it's been 90+ outside, LOL!
Glad you did, though. Gives me ideas for the future.

  3. I love it, Stephen! This totally puts me in the mood for Trick or Treat candy. :-)

You did a magnificent job with the Distress Powder-- those cobwebs are brilliant, spooky and totally cool, and the not-so-wicked witch is colored so beautifully! The foggy-looking background couldn't be more perfect.

I'm so happy that you won those stamps! Congratulations for that, and for rocking the Compendium Challenge again!

    Hugs,
    Linda

  8. Your tag has a real magical (or should that be witchy!) feel to it. I love the effect of the distress EP on the cobwebs.

  9. What a cool tag - I do envy you winning that awesome stamp set! Do you get trick-or-treaters? If I came to your house, I would be THRILLED to get a little bag of candy with this tag tied onto it! (And yes, I would totally shuffle up to your door on my knees, wearing a tiny costume, pretending I was only 8 years old.) You did a great job and now I'm inspired to try that darn powder!

  15. First, I completely love your witch, especially her hat -- unbelievable depth in such a simple design.

Second, I laughed out loud when I saw your spider's web. This week I bought my first ever tubs of powder. Upon spying the tub of orange I thought, "What the hell could I do with that nauseatingly bright stuff?"

Apparently I could make a very cool Halloween tag!

Tim owes you four bucks for selling me the tub of orange I'm going to buy! :)
