Simon Says Stamp and Show a Hat!

This week over at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog,
the Challenge was a Hat!

It has been a while since I made a dimensional piece for one of these challenges but with this one I knew exactly what I wanted to do. A Steampunk stove top hat full of gears.

I started with a cardboard tube and let my imagination go crazy!

I tried to give the impression of the gear bisecting and coming out of the top.

Over the brim
And out the sides.
I love how the feathers pick up the colors of the Graphic 45 paper.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Stars!

This week over at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog the challenge was
Show Some Stars.
Up until today I have never really thought about using stars in my art that much. Thats what I like about these challenges. They push you to try things that you may or may not have chosen to do.

I made a card, simple yet to the point,
pun intended.

I will most likely use this card in a swap or perhaps as a birthday or just a simple hello.

Cards Just for Fun!!

Had some extra time today to create and spent it making some cards just for fun!

I have been dying to play with my new Copic and Prismacolor markers so I knew I wanted to color some images by Daniel Torrente and Jill Penny.

Also having to always use a little Tim Holtz in my work I came up with the following cards.
I can honestly say Im quite pleased in the way they turned out. Cant wait to color and play some more!

Too fun! I really had to force myself to stop playing today.

The Final Challenge?

Its so hard for me to believe that I have completed every challenge in
Tim Holtz's Book
The Compendium-of-Curiosities.
Very special Thanks to Linda over at Studio L3 for pushing us all to challenge ourselves each week with a new creative technique.

Also as I often do I love finding ways to combine this challenge with the one being hosted at
Where this week the challenge was Some Metal.

I made a card using the techniques for each challenge and came up with the following creation.

I embossed and painted over the metal to tone down the shine. Then highlighted some of the embossing with ink. Used some brass brads to add a studded effect. A metal rosette topped with a metal button.

Complete metal overload!!

Close up of the rosette and button.

Another Sunday, Another Two-fer Challenge Entry

busi·erbusi·est

Definition of BUSY

1
a : engaged in action :
b : being in use busy>
2
: full of activity
Is it me? or is life just getting increasingly busier and busier? I have again combined my challenges as we get closer to the end of the Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenges on Linda's blog Studio L3
This week was Dimensional Collage Fragments.

On the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge it was
Show some Ephemera.

Using both the techniques, I created a card that I will most likely use for Birthday wishes.
