Catch Up Sunday

Hope everyone is having a great week end. Here in Georgia we have had the most amazing weather for February, high 60's to low 70's which is of course giving us all spring fever. With that in mind I tackled this weeks challenges and once again rolled two into one.

First up Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 33 is Altered Metal Alcohol Inks.
Next Simon Says Stamp and Show the Challenge is Some Strips.
I decided to make an altered tin for these challenges. As you can see my altered metal piece are the butterflies on the top of the piece, sitting on top of striped grungeboard.

I also included stripes inside of the tin along with a sentiment from Henry David Thoreau.

Altered Ancestors Swap

ALTERED ANCESTORS

Over on the All Things Tim Yahoo List we are having a Little Fat Book Swap. This is an art swap where each player makes 11 pages and sends them to our list mom Gloria who has so graciously agreed to bind them all for us and send us a bound book back.
These are my pages that I have created for the books.

When making altered art there is usually lots of ethereal images including wings, hats, and other such accessories.
I chose to do something a little different and make my alterations a little more subtle even eerie if you will.

Kind of like that aunt or uncle no one talks about....

Creepy and Kooky .....

Mysterious and Spooky,,,

See anyone you recognize?

Working from the Stash

Over time you pick up little pieces of ephemera here and there. Ending up with an amazing collection of bits and pieces... A lot of very cool stuff for sure, most of it little gifties from online friends sent along with cards and swaps.

Im taking a cue from another online friend, Eileen and forcing myself to create some art from all the wonderful things I have collected. Below is the first of my creations I will aptly call my

From the Clutter Collection

"Lucky"
This card was created from one piece of paper and one playing card. I cut up the paper and altered the layers.
All I added was a die cut bee and some stickles. And Stamped it of course!

"All You Need is Love"
Again, Wonderful scrap paper and Ephemera image from a swap. Lay them all out with some canceled Love Stamps and a die cut Dragon Fly. Victorian Valentine maybe?

"Inside My Own Head"
Started this card off with a left over image I stamped for an ATC Swap.
Layered up with some 7 Gypsies tags and a sentiment from Tim.
Wa-La!

"Thanks for the Lift"
I really like the way this one turned out. This is an old Western Auto Tag, a cancelled auto stamp, a 7 Gypsies journaling tag, and some old ticket stubs.
Layered up on a fantastic piece of paper that I stamped with an auto tag background stamp.
Since getting a ride is sometimes called getting a lift,
I love the play on words of Thanks for the Lift. I will definitely use this card as a Thank You.

Embossing to the 2nd Power

This week the Challenge as Studio L3 is Rusted Enamel.
The Challenge at Simon says Stamp and Show is Show Some Embossing.
I made a card using the Rusted Enamel technique on a die cut of a door plate showing Alice through a key hole. I really like the way it turned out. Just like old rusted paint.
Underneath that layered printed paper over some Steampunk embossed cards stock.
Its an embossed card lovers dream!

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge

After not being able to participate for a few weeks Im finally back in the swing of things.
This week the Challenge on Simon Says Stamp and Show's Blog was Show Some Love.
And thats just what I did, I made and sent several tags similar to this one below out to a few online friends. Some haven't acknowledged them yet so I hope they all make it to their destinations.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge # 30

As they say, "Time Flys when your Having Fun"
Are we really up to week 30??

It doesn't seem possible.... This weeks Linda over at Studio L3 challenged us with the Altered Metal Technique by Tim Holtz.

As I often do I used the challenge to make a card. This time a Birthday Card which represents a Milestone
