CHA Chicago

I couldnt make it to Chicago to CHA but my most wonderful online friend Sue Stoughton promised me that she would get me something no one else has.

Is she just the GREATEST! or what?

Update from Sue

Looks good on your blog.  So glad you are enjoying it.  While I was doing it, I was telling him the story about you not being able to come.  There was a crowd of people there and when he finished the pic, everyone clapped.  Youl would have loved being there.  The event was worthy of you.

Embossed Tag Swap

On the All Things Tim Yahoo Group I have been hosting my first swap. Its a tag swap where the common thread was you had to use something embossed with Tim Holtz's New Texture Fades.
Above is a picture of all the tags I received waiting to be swapped out.
The art that I received has been phenomenal. We have such a creative group. Each and every tag was just amazing.
Below are pictures of the tags I made for the swap. I made all my different as did several of the players.
Using the Texture Fades was so much fun I cant decide which one I like best.

Tim's 100th Collection Stamp Set, SIGNED!!!

Sung to the tune of The Mickey Mouse Club.

Who the leader of the Group that's made for you and me?

G - L -O -R - I - A is the best you see!

Last week after seeing a post from Gloria (our list Mom) that she was going to the Carson Stamp Show, I emailed her and asked her if she would pick up some stamps sets for me.

Not only did she get me 2 different sets, she got me one of the 100th Collection sets that Tim signed.

Can you say UNBELIEVABLE? Ok, sing the song above again! LOL

I cant Thank her enough and will be forever in her debt.

WOW!

And the Post Card One Too!!

RAK from Laurel Stimler

Over on the ATT group an online friend is relocating to Georgia. Being in Georgia myself I am looking forward to having a fellow Tim Junkie to make art and hit the shops with. Anyway she asked me recently if I liked Asian inspired art also.

Being of Asian decent, of course I have always been attracted to all things Asian. Hey that would be ATA instead of ATT... LOL

So, back to the point Laurel sent me the most unexpected RAK ( Random Act of Kindness) today in the form of an Asian inspired tag that she actually used for week 4 in the Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge.

Needless to say I was floored not only by the unexpectedness of it, but by the sheer Beauty of it. I will Cherish it forever.

Thanks so Much!

Halloween in July or The Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge Week 5

Well what do you know its week 5 in the Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge. Linda is doing such a great job of keeping us all on our toes and letting us learn some new techniques and refresh ourselves on some older one.

This week is Distress Powder which I happen to love and have actually emptied a bottle of it before using it on tags, pages, cards, everywhere.

So you know I was happy to jump right in on this challenge and it also gave me an excuse to play with my new stamps I won from Tim's Blog. You have all heard of Christmas in July, well this week it was Halloween in July.

Let me know what you think.

Tim's Summer Stamp Release

As many of you know a few days ago Tim Holtz announced his new stamps on his Blog. Well just for leaving him a comment he picked several winners to receive one set from the new collection. Well I was picked, Yippee! and my stamps came today. I couldn't be happier that I received the Retro Halloween set....

Now how am I gonna afford to get the rest of them? Anybody want to float me a loan?

Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge

Ok, Better Late Than Never....

Over at Studio L3, Linda has been hosting the Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge where every week she has challenged everyone to take the technique of the week and make art.

I wanted to play from the beginning but alas real life gets in the way... I finally got caught up enough to offer some art for week 4 Shabby Chic!

I made a card with an asian flair, the charater means "Blessings of Wealth" The stamps are from Oasis Stamps available from Rubberneckerstamps.com

There are great prizes to be won on her blog along with prizes from the All Things Tim Yahoo Group so hopefully you will play along too.
