Grungy Monday on a Sunday and its Not a Card


LOVE, WISH, DREAM
Thats the stamp I used on the cover of the journal Im planning. Its also my latest entry to not one but two challenges this week.

First off for the Grungy Monday Challenge over on Linda's blog

The challenge was Distress Ink with Studio Multi Medium a technique we learned from
Tim Holtz. After making a stamp from Tims new Sewing room die I was ready to go.
The Distress inks I used were Victorian Velvet, Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey and Dusty Concord.

I also over sprayed the whole piece with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Black Magic.
I used paint dabbers on the heart, crown and wings then covered them with Rock Candy Distress paint.

For the word stamp effect I used my Cathie Allen Position it tool to re- stamped over and over in paint and ink to get the stand out layered look.
And Hey, Its not a card so Im entering it into the

  1. Stephen, what a COOL journal cover! The design is great-- bold and powerful, and no doubt this book will hold some ingenious thoughts and plans. The black glimmer mist gives the piece such a cool, shabby-chic vibe. The resist turned out perfectly, and the winged heart and crown are used so cleverly.
