Moments

This week over at Simon Says Stamp and Show the challenge was

Show Your Numbers!

Having just finished my Altered Clock I thought what a great entry for this Challenge.
Below is the original post with pictures of the clock.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Isn't that what everything every day is? Just a whole bunch of Moments?
Good or Bad the ones that we remember are the ones that make us who we are. That's why I just had to use this muse token from Tim Holtz on my altered clock project. Actually everything on this project is from Tim. I have been wanting to make one for a while and here are the results.

Unique muse token on another gear sits in the 11 position on the clock.

I used Distress crackle which I inked over of course and on the edge of the face of the clock I used some of the Traveler tissue tape with all the months of the year. I love the way it turned out.

A shot of the finished project. Its free standing or I can hang it if I want.

Just for Fun Fragrance Flower Contest

Hey Everyone
Hope your having a great day. Being inspired by going green and constantly looking for a reason to play with my Alteration Dies by Tim Holtz, yeah like I need a reason. I decided to have a little contest.

I received a recent mailing about fragrance from one of our local stores. Maybe you got this mailing too or maybe not. However if you know your fragrances then you have an advantage. I used my Tattered Floral die to cut up the mailing and create the flowers you see.

There are 10 different current fragrances represented by them. Email me your guesses and I will pick one winning entry from the all of the correct entries to win all 10 flowers and a grab bag of other fun ephemera for you to play with. I will accept either the fragrance name or the designers name.
(Hint* there are both mens and womens)

Contest will run through Sunday 10/3/2010.
Winner to be announced Monday 10/4/2010.

Please put Fragrance Flower Contest in the header of your email and send your guesses to me at sjew@aol.com.

Have fun and Good Luck!

New Rosette Die

Got my new Rosette die from Tim Holtz this past week and couldn't stop playing with it. I had to share two tags I've made so far.

Since I'm in major Halloween mode right now you know the first tag had to be a Halloween one.
I wanted to try the half rosette/ bunting that Tim showed in his demo video. I wont lie, it took a little doing and a lot of sticky... LOL

Close up of the bunting with one of the bottle caps from my recent yard sale trek.

For my second tag, well I just had to try something metal. I used a/c - heating duct tape. Alcohol inked it and used another bottle cap in all its aged glory.

Close up of the cap. Pretty cool huh?

Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge week 15 and Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge

OK its Gonna be a Two for Tuesday this week.

Over on Linda's Blog Studio 3L it's week 15 in the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge and the technique is Alcohol ink Agate.

Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show its Show Your Grunge.

Being pressed for time this week I rolled both challenges into one. I created an Altered Tin, covered with Harlequin embossed grunge board and covered with grunge paper and Prima flowers. I love the look of the agate technique and even dabbed some on to the flowers that I used both a paint dauber and distress ink on too.
Finished it all off with an ornate plate, adage ticket, and a dragonfly button and Wah-la!

Hope you like it.

A close up of the flowers.

You can really see the surface of the tin in this shot.

One on One Halloween Tags

My good online friend, Inge Bekaert asked me if I would be interested in doing some one on one swapping. Of course I said yes, I mean have you seen her work? If not check it out here.
Anyway we agreed to swap 5 for 5 Halloween tags. I must confess I have been making these for a while now but what a great way for me to share them with someone and get some fabulous art back in the process.

Tag 1. Witch.
Made with Tim's Retro Halloween Stamp and a spider web stamp from one of his older sets. All embossed and hand colored.

Tag 2. Raven
Stamped again with one from Tim which I embossed and added some raven borders from Recollections. A metal corner from Tim's Ideaology finishes it off.

Tag 3. Bloody Skeleton
Several of Tims stamps. The skeleton is actually covered in Rock Candy Stickles but it doesnt show up so well in the picture. The Halloween is embossed in blood red slick enamel.

Tag 4. Witch Hazel.
I got this idea from the current issue of Stampers Sampler. They had a challenge called Different points of view. Using only one stamp to create unique images.

Tag 5 Ancestors
The ancestor stamp from Paper Artsy. I love their stamps. The framed man is actually a sticker from Recollections. Notice the ghostly blue image.

A closer look from the side revels the ghoul hiding inside the frame. Don't you just love it?

Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge week 14

Well its week 14 already and we are half way though September. Can you believe it? I'm in major Halloween mode right now and the Challenge over at Linda's blog Studio 3L is helping me get way ahead of my car making like never before. This weeks challenge is masking. I chose to use one as a fence to set the mood for a spooky card. I'm loving the way it turned out. I stamped the bird and then distressed him with Distressing Powder. Too creepy! LOL

Compendium-of-Curiosities-Challenge week #13

Week 13 already in the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge being held over at Linda's Blog Studio L3 This week the challenge was Grunge paper flowers. Wow the art is out of this world. I have been using these challenges to get ahead of my holiday card making but this week I decided to just make a "just for the fun of it" tag. I guess it could be a Victorian style valentine tag. What do you think?
